Eventful month ahead

Extension Not possible

1. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly have to complete discussions on Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill before January 23. Bill was tabled in the House and discussion had been started. If at all President has to consider extension of time, House must appeal, not Chief Minister. Extension is not going to be an easy decision, as it will be treated as unjust by Telanganites. Chief Minister and his Samaikyandhra protégés wasted 30 days of time given by President.

Rajya Sabha tension

2. Rajya Sabha biennial elections announced. Filing of nominations will start by January 22 and last for filing nominations will be January 28. If only six persons contest there won’t be polling on February 6th. If Congress contest for 3 seats, TDP 2 seats, TRS one seat story will end peacefully. If Congress or YSRCP float another person to the contest, the heat of politics will continue till February 6th.

D day of Telangana

3. Central Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamalnath announced the schedule of next Parliament session from February 5th to 21st. This will be the final session of this parliament. Vote on account budget may be presented in Parliament on February 17. Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill has to be presented, discussed and approved before February 17.

Political polarisation in offing

4. Chief Minister and his bandwagon may launch a new party in the last week of January. According to reliable sources, all background arrangements are on anvil. Political polarisation will take place in both regions. In Seemandhra polarisation will help TDP to become more strong, where as YSRCP will struggle to save its nagging image. In Telangana TRS and Congress will be strengthened, while all Seemandhra parties will be weakened.
